A trio of teenagers is taken hostage by an ex-con and are forced to examine their relationships.

Kono Takeshi has given up work as an electrician to run a gift-shop business with his partner/mistress Rieko, who's a couple of years older than him. When the company faces bankruptcy Kono wants to quit, but Rieko strings him along with the promise of a large cash investment, the proceeds of a real-estate deal. Her actual plan to raise the money is to kidnap a young woman and demand a ransom for her release. The trouble is, it never occurs to her to keep the victim alive before trying to extort the cash. And when things start to go wrong, Rieko responds by murdering another girl and attempting another ransom scam..

When Joseph Haydn completed his fourth and final oratorio at the beginning of 1801 the 69-year-old composer was famous throughout Europe. Born in 1732 as the son of a humble wheelwright, Haydn grew up in a rural, peasant environment. That such a child should make his way eventually to the position of court composer was an extremely rare occurrence. Even in his days at royal courts, however, Haydn still felt a close and intimate attachment to Nature and to life in the countryside. When Baron Gottfried van Swieten, then, presented to Hadyn a libretto on the theme of The Seasons, he found in the old composer a worthy partner in his own veneration for Nature.

Narrated by William Shatner, and accompanied by a special digital "surround" recording of Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, the film takes audiences on a breathtaking trip through the eruption of spring, the growth of summer, the harvest and festivity of autumn, and the dormancy of winter. The beauty of the seasons is interspersed with a look at the earth as a planet, the sun as a star, and the human quest to understand the relationship between the two.

Seasons is an experimental video that weaves personal memory, movement, and the ephemeral nature of love into a poetic narrative across four acts. Each section corresponds to a season and a place: Winter in Japan, Spring in Korea, Summer in China, and Fall in Love. The first three acts are created using a "motion extract" technique, where only movement is captured, leaving a haunting black backdrop that frames the fleeting motions of life. These segments reflect the director's time spent working on projects in Japan, Korea, and China during the respective seasons, grounding each location in its temporality. The original audio from the filming process accompanies these visuals, immersing viewers in the specific textures of each place. In the final act, Fall in Love, the clarity of both video and sound dissolves into a blur, reflecting the elusiveness and fragility of love and memory. The faint echoes of the director’s conversations with a former partner linger in this obscured space, hinting at intimacy while withholding its full shape, leaving the audience to contend with the ambiguity of what remains. Through Seasons, the director captures not just the transience of time and place but also the impermanence of human connections, inviting viewers to reflect on the movements that define their own lives.
